One of our favourite restaurants that has made its home in Creemore is Chez Michel also on the main street. Ontario Viniculture in Greater Georgian Bay Area www.realontariowine.ca
The Georgian Bay area is home to five independent OVA members all focused on a quality product. Coffin Ridge Winery www.coffinridge.ca has recently celebrated the opening of their Winery overlooking Georgian Bay. This is the first of Grey County’s wineries. Enjoy a wine tasting (Thursday to Sunday) and walk through the vineyard property. Perhaps a glass of wine and a Vintner’s plate made up of local artisan breads and cheeses will tempt you while there! Relax on the deck and listen to music and enjoy the glorious views. Winding your way back to the Inn along Georgian Bay I would be remiss to not mention a jewel in our crown regarding beverages!

Cider

Thornbury Village Cidery http://www.peelercider.com & Beaver Valley Orchard and Cidery http://www.bvcider.com are two wonderful additions to beverages in the area sourced from local fruit. Cider a popular drink in the U.K., France and Spain is a delightful beverage made from the fermented juice of apples. Available in both kegs and bottles a glass ‘Peeler Cider’ can be enjoyed in numerous establishments in Thornbury one of my favourites being “The Dam Pub” at 53 Bruce St. (the main street.) Beaver Valley Orchard & Cidery is open for tastings as of May 15th.
